FLW Outdoors originally announced a January 17–19 date for its FLW Series East/West Fishoff, then switched the date to Feb. 14–16, which put it right on top of Bassmaster Classic practice. But the league now confirms the Fishoff will take place Feb. 7–9 – a week earlier than the previously announced date – which means Steve Kennedy, Tommy Biffle and Derek Remitz, who all qualified for both the Classic and the Fishoff, will no longer have to choose one over the other.
Kennedy's predictably stoked. "That's why we were fishing the Series to begin with – to make the Fishoff and then make the (Forrest Wood Cup)," he said. "(I'll) definitely be there. I don't understand why they changed it (from January) in the first place, but it's great they got it right this time. I'm looking forward to it."
Location for the Fishoff has not yet been announced, but a prevalent rumor points to Lake Amistad in Texas as the likely venue.
