Sudden Death Round 2 of the 2018 Summit Select from Hot Springs, Ark is chronicled on this weekend's episode of Major League fishing. Broadcast times on Outdoor Channel are 2 to 4 p.m. ET Saturday (premiere), 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 11 a.m. next Friday.
Dave Lefebre, Keith Poche, Cody Meyer, Todd Faircloth (pictured), Marty Robinson and Brandon Palaniuk moved to Lake Hamilton after starting the week on Lake Ouachita. The competitors were attempting to be among the first three to reach the target weight of 16 pounds, which would advance them to the Championship round. One angler hit the mark during the second of the three periods.
The shows, filmed in May 2017, featured flooded bodies of water across the region after historic rains in the month prior to filming.
Umbrella rigs, spinnerbaits and fluke-style baits were productive during the day and a 3 1/2-pounder caught in the opening period created a lot of buzz. Anglers moved up and down the Scoretracker throughout the day and there was a bit of friction as competitors cut each other off going into pockets. One angler incurred a 5-minute penalty for marking a waypoint during the break between the first and second periods.
