Practice Wrap-Up

It’s so just hard to tell (how it’s going to go). I wish I could say I have bunch of 5-pounders locked down that nobody else found, but I suspect everybody else found them as well. It just all depends on boat draw and boat position and how you set up on a fish.

I know stuff I found in 2012, I haven’t found anything like that this year. I’d say more than half of the fish caught will be spawners, but it’s hard to say with the weather coming in because that will make it difficult to see them. We’ve had some harsh winds and it was okay this morning, but it kicked up this afternoon. They’re calling for clouds and winds tomorrow so it’s going to be a challenge. I think the guys who have figured out bites other than looking at then will come out ahead. I tried to find something away from everybody, I but haven’t found it so I’ll probably be in there with a bunch of other guys.

When we come here, it seems like we start out strong and guys who sack them up the first 2 days wind up finishing well. I feel good, but I know I’m going to be in the right areas. The fish are there. The challenge is to get them to bite. There are a lot of people in that same boat. I will start on a couple good ones that I think are ready. I just have to hope they’re there in the morning.
