Today was the longest boat ride of my life – I've never had to get gas twice in the same day. Doing the math, it was over 300 miles with all of the running around.

I hope I don't have a lot of company. I didn't see any boats where I was at today, but some guys didn't make the run. I also had about 45 minutes to check an area (near the launch) and I found out it still has both bass and redfish there.

To win the Classic, you've got to swing for the fences, and that's what my plan is. I don't want to jinx myself, but I feel as good as I've ever felt for a Classic. There were times in the past where I might've been on the right fish, but maybe I didn't have the maturity or the knowledge to pull it off. I feel a lot better now about knowing what it takes to win.

I have some backup stuff, but it's definitely nothing like my main stuff. But if we did have a fog delay and I had to go to plan B, I think I could at least keep myself in the hunt with it. The thing I'm really surprised about is the water didn't warm up more (at the south end). It's in the low to mid 50s and I was expecting it to be closer to 60.

After what I saw today, I should have just under 4 hours to fish, although that might be pushing it. I have my longer day on Friday, so I should have at least 4 hours that day. If they bite like they've been biting, that could be plenty.
