I think it's best to stick to the basics around this place and I usually just pick up a flipping stick and go. That's how I grew up fishing here. You can do a million different things, but when I've got a flipping stick in my hand, I'm usually pretty happy.
I got seven bites on the first day of practice for about 20 pounds, and then five bites for 17 or 18 pounds the second day, and then (Wednesday) just two bites. We're not going to get the best tide and I don't seem to be able to get too many bites in the morning. I'll be happy if I can get two by noon and figure I can catch three more in the afternoon.
The tide will be incoming for most of the day and that's a crappy tide for me because they just don't bite. I know they're there, but nothing will trigger them. You're going to have to run to get the good tide, and anytime you do that it opens you up for a big screw-up.
Usually this place is in full pre-spawn mode by now. But a lot of fish are in the current, and that means winter.
