In Gerald Swindle's mind, there's no sense in overthinking it when it comes to jig fishing. He knows what he likes because it's produced for him time and again in tournaments across the country.

Where others vary size and color fairly often, the two-time B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year has the most confidence in a 3/8-oz. brown jig tipped with a green-pumpkin craw imitation trailer.

"Keep it kind of simple and keep it kind of clean," he says.

He fishes it around just about any kind of cover he can find and it's produced countless numbers of bass for him over the years.
