In continuing the new BassFan Up Close feature, we are happy to bring you episode number six in our #BassDayEver series, in which pro anglers delve into the details surrounding the single-most significant day of their tournament careers.

In today's episode, Mark Davis goes back to 1995 to discuss a pivotal time in his life and career. After undergoing gastric bypass surgery the previous year, Davis arrived at the Illinois River Bassmaster Top 100 with a shot at winning Angler of the Year. He converted the opportunity in dramatic fashion, making day 4 of that event his #BassFanEver.

It touched off quite a sequence for Davis, who won the Bassmaster Classic later that summer.
