Randall Tharp took a run at history Sunday, but ultimately came up a few pounds short.

The final day of the Bassmaster Classic was rife with anticipation and there were shortage of delicious story lines.
> Could Edwin Evers finally break through on the sport's biggest stage and earn the signature win that's eluded him?
> Will Randall Tharp make history and be the first man to hold both the Forrest Wood Cup and Classic titles simultaneously?
> Could Paul Mueller, a 20-something fishing guide from Connecticut, follow up his record-setting day-2 effort with another stringer that would bring him the Classic crown?
> Or would someone else further down in the field mount a massive rally to overtake Evers and Tharp and dance off into the sunset with the title?
It all played out across Lake Guntersville on a sun-splashed Sunday in Alabama. While Evers, Tharp and Mueller ultimately fell short, it was Randy Howell's time to shine as he rallied from 11th place to seize the Classic title thanks to a 29-pound stringer, the majority of which was cause along a riprap causeway wall with dozens of spectators looking on from shore.
Below is a collection of images we captured around the lake on the final day.

Rocky Times
As we headed back to the ramp, we found Terry Scroggins casting along some riprap near a causeway. He was joined by some locals on shore. (Photo: BassFan)
