Chapman the new Rankings king

Chapman the new Rankings king

Reigning B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year Brent Chapman has moved to the top of the BassFan World Rankings for the first time in his career. Both Chapman and former No. 1 Bryan Thrift have moved past previous leader David Dudley in the first new edition of 2013, which follows last week's FLW Tour opener at Lake Okeechobee.

"That's really exciting," Chapman said when informed of his ascension. "What a cool way to start the season for me. Other than (Kevin) VanDam, the guys who've gotten there have found it hard to stay for very long, so a good goal for me will be to try to stay there the whole year."
