Megabass adds Evers

Megabass of America announced today that it will sponsor veteran Bassmaster Elite Series pro Edwin Evers for the 2013 season. He’ll join fellow Elite Series pro Aaron Martens along with FLW Tour anglers Luke Clausen and Shin Fukae on the Megabass tour-level pro staff.

“Edwin is not only one of the premier anglers in our sport today, but he also embodies the core values, work ethic and competitive spirit at the heart of the Megabass organization,” said Yuskei Murayama, VP of Megabass of America. “Edwin has exhibited a tireless drive to perfect his craft, and I know his input will be invaluable to our development efforts. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to the Megabass family.”

The announcement comes just weeks before the start of the 2013 Bassmaster Classic, to be held on Oklahoma’s Grand Lake, where Evers, a native of Talala, Okla., is considered one of the favorites.

“The Vision 110 has been in my arsenal for years,” Evers said. “It’s the premier jerkbait out there and all the pros use it. It’ll more than likely win the Classic.”

The agreement between Megabass and Evers represents an additional step toward the company’s goal of expanding its U.S. presence and creating products specifically tailored to U.S. fisheries.

“That’s the part that’s most exciting for me,” Evers said. “They want my direct input on anything and everything. The two things they care about are winning tournaments and product development and that’s a situation I’ve always wanted to be in.”
