Shimano hauls in Meyer

Shimano announced today that FLW Tour angler Cody Meyer is the newest member of the company's expanding pro staff, and he'll now be casting Jackall baits on Shimano rods matched with PowerPro-filled Shimano reels.

Meyer, who's been affiliated with Jackall in previous seasons, will begin his new affiliation with Shimano at the FLW Tour season opener at Lake Okeechobee, which starts Feb. 7.

“Cody has been a great asset to Jackall Lures, and we look forward to him helping us bring even more awareness to not only Jackall, but also Shimano and PowerPro as well,” Shimano fishing division marketing director Bob Mahoney said. “He’ll be assisting our team at tournaments, dealers functions and tackle shows as his schedule allows, plus we’ll be listening to him for input on rods, reels, line and lures.”

Meyer, who hails from Grass Valley, Calif., will be fishing the FLW Tour this year, along with select EverStart Series tournaments and the B.A.S.S. Northern Opens.

“I’ve already had the opportunity to fish Shimano Sustain reels on Cumara dropshot rods,” said Meyer. “Match that tackle up with a Jackall FlickShake worm along with the added sensitivity from PowerPro Super8Slick braid, and you truly take fishing to a new level.”
