FLW Tour field released

FLW Tour field released

The field for the six FLW Tour events this year will be 175 anglers, according to a list provided to BassFan today by FLW.

Some notable facets are the presence of seven Bassmaster Elite Series pros who will fish both pro-level circuits. It’s the first time since 2010 that the FLW Tour and Elite Series schedules haven’t overlapped at some point during the season. Pulling double duty this year will be: Tommy Biffle, Steve Kennedy, Bobby Lane, Chris Lane, Ish Monroe, Fred Roumbanis and Zell Rowland. Jason Christie and Kelley Jaye will also fish the Elites after qualifying through the Opens a year ago.

Clifford Pirch isn’t listed and had said he would fish the Elites over the FLW Tour if he couldn’t secure enough sponsorship support to do both. Kevin Hawk also jumped to the Elite Series. Russell Parrish opted to fish FLW this year, forgoing his invite to return to the Elite Series.

Among the notables who aren’t fishing the Tour in 2013 are David Wolak, Marty Stone, Tom Mann, Jr., Craig Dowling, JT Palmore and Thanh Le.

Legends Roland Martin and Jimmy Houston are both back for another season as is Shirley Crain, who last fished the Tour in 2006.

Pro anglers will compete for up to $125,000 and co-anglers will vie for up to $25,000 in each tournament, including Ranger Cup bonuses. With the full field, the paybacks will be $4,000 through 60th place on the pro side and $700 on the co-angler side.
