Dobyns Rods announced that it's added Arkansas legend Larry Nixon to its pro staff.
"As an Evinrude Pro Team member, I've gotten to know Larry over the years," said Gary Dobyns. "He's easy-going, he's a true gentleman and he's still catching them. He's one of the trailblazers of our sport and we're honored to be associated with such a true professional."
Like Jay Yelas, the 62-year-old Nixon, who won last year's Detroit River FLW Tour Open, recently saw a decades-long relationship with the Pure Fishing companies (including Abu Garcia and Berkley) come to a close. He's also added Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits and Luck-E-Strike to his portfolio for 2013.
