Major League Fishing has announced that General Tire will be the title sponsor for the Summit Cup, which will begin airing in prime time on Thursday (Jan. 3) at 9 p.m. ET on the Outdoor Channel. The event was filmed Aug. 27-Sept. 1 at Chautauqua Lake in western New York.
“We’re especially pleased to welcome General Tire, one of America’s best automotive companies, to our league,” said MLF GM Jim Wilburn. “In addition to welcoming a great company to our broadcasts, another benefit to our partnership with General Tire is that we’re expanding the sponsorship base of Major League Fishing. While we love to have the recognition of sponsors within the fishing industry, we also believe it is healthy for our industry to attract great companies outside our normal boundaries – companies like General Tire.”
Said General Tire director of Marketing Travis Roffler: “We’re thrilled to partner with Major League Fishing. This made-for-TV event is a great way to engage not only diehard fans, but reel in new ones with the series’ fan-friendly approach to production. This is a key market for the General Tire brand and we’re honored to be associated with Outdoor Channel and 24 of the world’s best anglers. We’re looking forward to a great partnership.”
