Greg Hackney caught his second straight bag that surpassed 13 1/2 pounds and took over the lead at the Neely Henry PAA Tournament Series in Alabama with 1 day to fish. The Louisianan pushed his 2-day total to 27.31 pounds.
"I've got a couple deals going, and one is cranking," he said. "I've been getting 12 to 15 bites a day and they've just kind of been scattered throughout the day. Fishing's pretty tough and you have to grind through it, and I've been fortunate to get a couple of better-than-average bites each day.
"During the slow periods I'm fishing on the bottom, but when you can get everything working, winding seems to be the deal."
