Designer Jackson to Duckett

Duckett Fishing announced today that it's hired Al Jackson as its rod designer and manufacturing manager. He comes to the company from E21, where he held a similar title.

“Al brings 35 years of experience as an innovation leader within our industry," said Bassmaster Elite Series angler Boyd Duckett, the company's owner and CEO. "He is well-known and respected in our business, and we’re delighted to welcome him to Duckett Fishing.

“We’ve developed a reputation as an innovative company, so we’re always interested in products that are ahead of the curve for our industry. Al will be a perfect fit. He’s all about new ideas, but he’s also a hands-on manager who wants to make sure that manufacturing is done right.”

Jackson, who has a four-decade history in the fishing industry, has performed design and development work for J. Kennedy Fisher, Lew Childre, Newell, Contender, Berkley, G. Loomis, Lamiglas and Kistler. In addition to his work in the fishing industry, Jackson has also developed golf components used by Titleist, Callaway, Ping, Cobra, Cleveland and TaylorMade.

Jackson replaces Ken Whiting, who's returned to Airrus.
