Ike Foundation announces four scholarship winners

The Ike Foundation has announced its for scholarship winners for 2025. Selected from a pool of 251 high school senior applicants from across the country, the winners are:

> Adonia Matson of Oregon, who'll be a theology major at Wheaton College;
> Ethan Maggiot of Massachusetts, who'll study environmental science at Wesleyan University;
> Skylar Magnarell of Georgia, who'll major in aquatic sciences, fisheries and wildlife at the University of Georgia;
> Aidan Joneliet of New York, who'll study electrical engineering and computer sciences at UC Berkeley.

Each will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Applicants were required to submit an essay on how technological advancements like forward-facing sonar and Chat GPT helping and hindering the advancement of competitive fishing and academics.

"The unique qualities of our applicant pool were very impressive," said veteran Bassmaster Elite Series pro Mike Iaconelli, who started the foundation along with wife Becky. "These remarkable students are leaders, volunteers and conservationists who demonstrate a passion for the outdoors shared by The Ike Foundation."
