Montevallo's Harris, Head prevail at Hartwell

Peyton Harris and Dalton Head of top-ranked University of Montevallo caught 37.14 pounds over 2 days to win the Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship at Lake Hartwell. Tripp Berlinsky and Bryce DiMarua from second-ranked North Alabama were the runners-up and Brody Robison and Peyton Sorrow of Montevallo were third in the 200-angler field.

Harris and Head entered the final day of the event in sixth, just over 2 pounds off the lead. On Day 2, they caught a 21.29-pound stringer – the heaviest of the tournament, to win by more than 4 pounds.

The victory was worth $6,500 in prizes and contingencies.

Montevallo received 7,300 points for the event with its Top 3 teams finishing 1st, 3rd and 9th, bringing its season total to 40,575. Montevallo has now captured five straight School of the Year titles.
