After catching the heaviest bag in the field for the second straight day, Michael Smith extended his lead to more than 5 1/2 pounds Friday at the Lake Eufaula Southeastern FLW Series with a two-day total of 50-00.
The resident of Andalusia, Ala. followed up his 25-07 opening-day stringer with 24-09 on day 2. Scott Montgomery moved up one place to 2nd with a 21-02 haul for a 44-07 total as the 87-angler field was reduced to the top 10.
