Z-Man puts operations on hold

Z-Man Fishing Products announced in a letter to customers and affiliates that it will temporarily close operations at its facility in Ladson, S.C., due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

"This pandemic has undoubtedly created a unique set of challenges for the fishing industry and small businesses like Z-Man," Z-Man president Daniel Nussbaum wrote. "We are forced to balance competing interests of the safety of our employees, public health, the health of our business, and our customers’ needs as we never have before.

"We have reached this decision because the health and safety of our employees is our paramount concern, and we feel that limiting human-to-human interaction inherent to operating a manufacturing plant and warehouse is the safest course of action at this point in time. Even though we have enacted and enforced strict social distancing, hand-washing, and cleaning protocols over the last two weeks, the soundest decision at this point is to minimize interactions even further given what we know about how easily this coronavirus can spread."

During the closure, Z-Man office staff will work remotely and the company will stay in close communication with customers and business partners.
