Jordon jumps to Bass Cat

Bass Cat Boats continues to bolster its pro staff with the addition of Bass Pro Tour angler Kelly Jordon.

Jordon, who previously ran a Skeeter, has over $2 million in combined winnings across multiple tours. He’s won four B.A.S.S. events and one FLW Tour event, qualifying for nine Bassmaster Classics and two Forrest Wood Cups. He was also one of the leading forces behind the origination of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic, now the Toyota Texas Fest.

“Kelly has been a longtime friend of the Bass Cat family,” said company President Rick Pierce. “He is a big bass expert and a threat to win anywhere, but he adds particular credibility in the important Texas market.”

He became aware of the Bass Cat family over two decades ago when he drew company founder Ron Pierce in a tournament on Lake of the Ozarks.

“We had a great day and hit it off," Jordon said. "Then I met Rick and Jan and so many of the other people associated with the company. It was almost like coming home. I’m so excited about the future.”

Bass Cat Pro Staff Manager Kevin Short fished against Jordon for years across various platforms and knows him to be both a tenacious competitor and a credible promoter.

“He’s been a competitor and a friend for years and I’m thrilled to welcome an angler of his stature to the Bass Cat family," Short added.

In 2020, Jordon will compete out of a Bass Cat Eyra powered by a Mercury 250HP Pro XS outboard.

“I’m tired of running down the lake looking at the back of Bass Cats,” he said. “I love a sporty, performance-oriented boat, and I dig the passion Rick has for making boats perform exceptionally in every sense of the word.”
