Elite Series pros victims of theft

The boats of three Elite Series anglers were broken into on the eve of the Cayuga Lake Elite Series tournament.

Rods and reels were taken Wednesday night from the boats of Chris Zaldain, Caleb Sumrall and Ed Loughran III, all of whom are staying at the same house on the east side of Cayuga Lake this week.

The boats of two other Elite Series anglers also staying at the house were not bothered.

Local police were contacted this morning and will meet with the anglers later today to gather more information.
