Balog: Quality or quantity?

Joe Balog recently had an outing during which he caught 30 fish, none of them exceeding 10 inches in length, and thoroughly enjoyed himself. It started him thinking about the Major League Fishing tournament format, in which every legal fish counts toward a competitor's total, and also about the sport's early days when anglers would return to the launch with more than a dozen dead fish on a stringer. Perhaps the MLF style is a return to the sport's roots, but with a much larger conservation component.
