Five anglers cleared the 20-pound threshold on the first day competition at the Lake Seminole Southeastern FLW Series out of Bainbridge, Ga. Local competitor Rick Tindell of Leesburg, Ga., led the way with a 26-07 stringer that gave him an advantage of about 2 1/2 pounds over the field.
The tournament was scheduled to get under way Thursday, but the start was postponed by powerful winds. The entire field will be back on the water for Saturday's final round of competition.
Matt Baty, another Georgia angler, was 2nd with 24-13 and Arkansas' Troy Gibson was 3rd with 22-08.
