FLW identifies anglers in wreck

FLW today identified the four anglers who were involved in a boating accident Thursday on day 1 of the Grand Lake Southwestern FLW Series event in Oklahoma. The boaters were Ross Wright of McQueeny, Texas and Matt Garner of Seminole, Okla. The co-anglers were two Oklahomans – Johnny Babb of Holdenville and Jimmy Green of Grove.

The organization noted in its press release that additional details about the accident will be released after an accident report is received by the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA).

The GRDA police pulled the boats to shore to transport the injured anglers hospitals. Two of the men were transported to Tulsa area hospitals, and one was transported to a hospital in Miami, Okla. No update on the condition of the injured anglers is yet available.

Additional details will be forthcoming as an update on the conditions of the anglers involved and the official accident report is received.

On Friday, day 2 of the event was canceled due to severe thunderstorms and lightning. The tournament will resume Saturday with the full field fishing and the pro and co-angler winners will be determined by the cumulative weight of two days of competition instead of three.
