Combs to host benefit event

The inaugural Keith Combs Sam Rayburn Slam will take place Oct. 29 out of Cassel Boykin Park on Lake Sam Rayburn. The event, hosted by the Texas Bassmaster Elite Series pro, is an open team tournament with a greater than 135% payout. The tournament will also feature additional youth and college team prizes.

The main objective of the tournament is to raise awareness and funds for Warriors Weekend, a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of U.S. veterans with an emphasis on those wounded in the Global War on Terrorism.

In conjunction with the event, there will be a raffle that will include a 70-quart Pelican cooler overflowing with products from Strike King, Owner, Seaguar, Shimano, and Tackle Addict, a Minn Kota trolling motor and Power Tackle rods. Raffle tickets are 1 for $10 or 3 for $20 and can be purchased here.

Guided trips with Combs, James Niggemeyer, Greg West, Darold Gleason and Clark Rheem will be auctioned off. The auction will also feature two VIP tickets to the Professional Bull Riders Iron Cowboy to be held at AT&T Stadium in 2017, a custom-built rod from Batson Enterprises and a pair of game-used, autographed cleats from Minnesota Vikings defensive end Brian Robison.

Auctions are ongoing on Combs' Facebook page. All proceeds from the raffle and auction will benefit Warriors Weekend.
