Nixon recovering from heart surgery

Bass fishing legend Larry Nixon underwent quadruple-bypass heart surgery that also included the replacement of a valve late last week. He told BassFan via text on Sunday that he expects to remain hospitalized until Wednesday.

"Everything went well and I'm still doing good," he said. "I was a candidate for the big one."

The 66-year-old from Arkansas completed his 39th season of professional fishing in June. He finished 42nd on the FLW Tour points list.
