McCall opts for All-American over Tour event

Veteran Texas FLW Tour pro Chris McCall told BassFan today that he will forego the Tour event set for June 9-12 at Kentucky Lake in order to compete in the BFL All-American, which will be held June 8-11 at neighboring Lake Barkley.

McCall was one of two dozen anglers who incurred zeroes on day 1 of the previous event at Pickwick Lake after they became stranded in a lock due to the presence of a barge and could not make it back to the launch on time. The 13-07 bag that he had wiped out would've put him inside the Top 30 in the Angler of the Year race and in prime contention to make the Forrest Wood Cup, but instead he's outside the Cup cutoff at 52nd. He plans to fish the Tour regular-season finale 2 weeks later at Lake Champlain.

He qualified for the All-American out of the Lake of the Ozarks Regional (Region 5).
