Rayovac rules, entry dates announced

FLW announced today the Rayovac FLW Series rules, entry fees and payouts for the 2016 season. The season will again consist of three events in each of the five divisions – Central, Northern, Southeastern, Southwestern and Western – along with the no-entry-fee Rayovac FLW Series Championship to be held on Table Rock Lake in Kimberling City, Mo.

The Top 40 pros and co-anglers who fished all three qualifiers in each U.S. division advance to the championship for a shot at winning $95,000, including a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard. New for 2016, 2nd- through 4th-place awards have been substantially increased for the championship, with pros earning $25,000 for 2nd, $20,000 for 3rd and $15,000 for 4th and co-anglers earning $12,500 for 2nd, $10,000 for 3rd and $7,500 for 4th.

The highest finishing pro from each U.S. division and the new International division based on their finish at the 2016 FLW Series Championship qualify for the 2017 Forrest Wood Cup, along with the overall Top 5 finishers not already selected as the highest finisher in a division for a total of 11 pros advancing to the 2016 Cup.

Entry fees for the Rayovac FLW Series will increase slightly to $1,600 per qualifier for pros and $550 per qualifier for co-anglers.

The top pro and co-angler from the point standings in each division after three events (ties resolved by total weight) win the Strike King Angler of the Year and Co-Angler of the Year titles, respectively. The Top 10 pros and co-anglers from each division receive priority entry into the 2017 FLW Tour. The Top 4 pros in each division also qualify for the FLW Tour Invitationals, where they will fish for a $100,000 top prize and advancement to the Forrest Wood Cup.

Registration for the 2016 Rayovac FLW Series season is open for the Top 40 pros and co-anglers from the 2015 Rayovacs and the Top 50 boaters and co-anglers from each division of the 2015 BFLs. These anglers have until Nov. 16 to secure their priority entry. Ranger boat owners and sponsor entries may register beginning Nov. 17, followed by TBF members Nov. 19. All other entries will be accepted beginning Nov. 20.
