Ultimate Bass Radio set for milestone

Ultimate Bass Radio, the weekly program hosted by Kent Brown and aired on 50,000-watt KHTK out of Sacramento, Calif., will broadcast its 500th show on Saturday.

“I am lucky that many of my best friends in the world just happen to be the best bass anglers in the world as well, and they give freely of their time and let us into their world many times when they're in the heat of the battle," Brown said. "For that, I'm eternally grateful."

The show has aired every weekend in its 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. Pacific time slot since its debut. Only once – on Christmas morning in 2010 – has it consisted of highlights of previous shows. It's been a live broadcast on every other occasion, sometimes from remote locations such as the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., Moses Lake (Wash.) and Hawaii.

The show is live-streamed on the Internet at UltimateBassRadio.com and WesternBass.com and is available as a free podcast on iTunes.
