Dallas Morning News outdoors writer Ray Sasser wrote a piece in Wednesday's editions highlighting the findings of a study done by University of Florida graduate students, who dealt with the issue of lure avoidance in largemouth bass.
The study was conducted over 4 weeks in 2012 on a private, 27-acre lake in Florida that received very little fishing pressure from its owners. The researchers used two baits – a Rat-L-Trap and a Texas-rigged Senko – and found that the probability of recapturing a bass on the worm was much higher than on the lipless crank.
