McGuire rolls to KY Lake EverStart win

McGuire rolls to KY Lake EverStart win

Curt McGuire caught a 22-11 sack on Saturday to claim his second win in 4 years at the Kentucky Lake Central EverStart. He led wire to wire and his 70-03 total for 3 days eclipsed runner-up David Gnewikow by more than 7 pounds.

“This one was a little bit more special than my first win,” said McGuire, who also topped the event in 2010. “I feel like the competition here on Kentucky Lake is much stiffer now than it used to be. There are no better local fisherman than here at Kentucky Lake

“I really had a fantastic week. I must have caught at least 40 to 50 4-pound fish. Some of my schools that I had located, I never even touched. I really just tried to concentrate on the schools that I knew held bigger fish.”

Details of his winning pattern will be published soon.

Here are the final numbers for the Top 10:

1. Curt McGuire: 70-03
2. David Gnewikow: 62-13
3. MarkRose: 62-07
4. Kevin Snider: 60-01
5. Sam Morrow: 59-13
6. Clent Davis: 59-03
7. Randy Haynes: 58-01
8. Jason Lambert: 56-06
9. Ray Barga: 47-08
