Wood to help unveil new Vexus model

While the Forrest Wood Cup is being contested at Lake Ouachita this weekend, the man for whom the event is named will be in Hot Springs, Ark., helping promote a new boat brand.

Forrest L. Wood, the founder of Ranger Boats, will be at Trader Bill’s Outdoor Sports on Saturday morning to assist in the unveiling of a new model in the Vexus Boats lineup. The event, which will feature other Vexus models, is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to noon. Keith Daffron, Wood’s grandson, is part of the executive team at Vexus, a new Arkansas-based boat manufacturer that made a splash at the Bassmaster Classic in March when it introduced three aluminum models (AVX189, AVX1880 and AVX1980).
