The Bass University has released the list of seminar topics for its first session of 2013, to be held Jan. 19-20 at the Capital Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky.
Jan. 19
Mike Iaconelli: (1) How to find fish fast on new bodies of water using the G.U.S.P. system and maps. (2) Using topwater plugs year-round to consistently catch big bass.
Ish Monroe: (1) All-around frogging – how to fish hollow-bodied frogs around all types of cover. (2) Power-fishing with spinnerbaits throughout the year.
Brent Ehrler: (1) How to properly set up sonar and read it correctly. (2) Using jigs and dropshots to catch deep-water fish.
Jan. 20
Pete Gluszek: (1) Shallow crankbait fishing – how to get bass to react to square- and round-bill baits. (2) All about soft stickbaits – tricks, tips, and rigging methods for the “magic hotdog."
Ott DeFoe: (1) Jerkbait fishing for staging bass in the spring. (2) How to effectively fish rising water – cutting through the debris for magnum-size bass.
John Crews: (1) When and how to fish a shaky-head under all conditions, shallow to deep. (2) The power-fishing tandem technique – using the power-cranking and power-flipping combination to consistently catch big stringers.
