According to a report in the Decatur (Ill.) Herald-Review, the Decatur Park District voted last week to allow whiskey sales at the Bassmaster Elite Series Toyoya Trucks All-Star Week, scheduled for Sept. 20-23 at Lakes Decatur and Shelbyville.
Officials are in the process of organizing a lakefront festival to correspond with the event and requests were made to sell beer and liquor at the festival. Whiskey sales would be restricted to a confined area of the festival while beer sales would be permitted throughout, according to the report.
One board member expressed concern over the whiskey sales, but voted to support it in the end.
