Scroggins, Swindle on MLF

Terry Scroggins and Gerald Swindle told BassFan that their decisions to forego participation in Major League Fishing were not entirely due to conflicts with their Toyota sponsorship, as was reported in today's main story.

"In my own best interest, I made a personal decision not to do it," Scroggins said. "It's not solely on Toyota, but for all my sponsors – I thought it was the best thing for me and my career. It was my personal decision because I didn't think it was the right thing to do at this time."

Swindle cited similar reasons and also mentioned a timing conflict with his new hunting show (Moultrie's The Hit List).

"It's not just my relationship with Toyota – I didn't want to take the chance of jeopardizing any of my sponsors," he said. "I've worked hard to get them and that's where my allegiances are. When you combine that with my schedule, it's just something that didn't work out."
