In the wake of the tragic death of Nik Kayler earlier this month at the Lake Okeechobee FLW Series, Bassmaster Elite Series veteran Bernie Schultz has submitted an account of a horrific boat wreck at an event on the Hudson River in the 1980s that claimed the lives of two competitors. Schultz and his partner arrived on the scene while one of the unoccupied boats was still spinning in a circle and witnessed an obviously lifeless body on shore. He wouldn't learn of the other fatality until much later.
