Case against Monroe closed

The online court docket for the case against pro angler Ish Monroe in Osceola (Fla.) County Court says the case was closed Feb. 27.

Monroe was arrested on Jan. 16 and charged with misdemeanor battery after he was involved in a scuffle on the water with fellow angler Keith Poche during the Lake Toho Bassmaster Southern Open. Monroe was released on $1,000 bond that day and was subsequently sanctioned by B.A.S.S. along with Poche for their roles in the altercation.

The docket indicates Monroe was due to be arraigned in Osceola County Court on Feb. 27 and he entered a not guilty plea on Feb. 4. No trial date was set and the case was closed last week.

George D. Cranton, Jr., who is listed as Monroe’s attorney on the case summary, had no comment when reached by BassFan on Tuesday afternoon.

“The court docket says the case is closed and I’d rather not comment any further,” Cranton said.
